Youngest daughter Sara’s birthday wish came true with the help of her family as salesperson Debbie assisted with Sara’s choice of perfect pieces for Sara’s bedroom including her brand new headboard and dresser – all to scale from Sara’s plan making her small room functional and tidy with storage, just the way she wished! Now the next generation of shoppers has begun to discover the Bennett’s experience.

Hello Marlaine, Last March we took delivery of a La-Z-Boy reclining sofa. We noticed a problem with the right end of the recliner and contacted your service department. Marylou dispatched Jim to come have a look at it. After trouble shooting with the set to no avail and discussions with Marylou, she told us Bennett’s would credit the full purchase price and we could pick out another sofa. Marlaine, I can’t tell you how impressed and relieved I felt. I have dealt with Bennett’s in the past and I am a firm believer in the excellence of your business. Sharlene and I now have a lovely replacement sofa. Our thanks to you and Eric for treating us so decently. Huge thanks to Jim and Marylou for doing such a stellar job of looking after us. We’ll be back!

My wife and I recently purchased a dining room set, 3 chairs and and a sofa. The new coffee table is on order. The down side is that the leather chair and ottoman makes me miss many evening TV shows !!!! Cathy is your rock. She is so professional and always has a smile on her face , even though I likely piss her off at times. I just thought I should tell you of the great staff you have. Also , your delivery team is incredible. I only know one name , Sean but I am sure Cathy has the others. We thank you for a business second to none and a staff that needs to be recognised.

Dear Mr. Bennett, I am writing again on both the quality of products and staff that you have in your Peterborough store. I am speaking specifically of Jan Norman, home furnishings consultant. We have dealt with Jan a few times now and she is one of the best retail people I have ever encountered. I don’t know what you pay her, but you need to pay her more! Jan is fun to deal with and goes that extra mile for her customers. Something you don’t often get these days. I love my beautiful furniture and furnishings - every single piece we picked out is gorgeous and the best part is, you really did make it so easy! Hello Cathy, I just wanted to send you a short note to say THANK YOU so much for the guidance you gave my parents (Margaret and Peter Michaud) in their recent shopping expedition for twin beds. They really like them!! You made the whole experience painless, and I observed how patiently you dealt with their pre-conceived notions about beds..hahaha Seriously, though, it is a great skill you have and I know that they (and I) valued your knowledge and experience.
As a bonus, the delivery, set-up and pick-up of the old beds was a god-send for them. My mother told me that the guys who came to their house last week were really nice, and super-accommodating.

We were looking for a new kitchen table and had been to several other stores before walking through the front doors of Bennett’s. There are plenty of quality choices there to suit every budget and décor. Our salesperson Debbie was very helpful, knowledgeable and had great ideas. She listened to what we said and did not try to sell us something else. Also, she left us alone to look at the selection and talk as a couple without bugging us. Debbie also encouraged us to enter a store contest as Bennett’s was celebrating their 85th Anniversary. We actually won the Grand Prize of $2011 to spend at Bennett’s!! We almost didn’t collect our prize as our contact details had changed and no one could find us to let us know we won. Debbie went out of her way to find us and showed up in our driveway one weekend to give us the great news in person! When our furniture was delivered the delivery men were very polite, careful and efficient. We had a very positive experience at Bennett’s and encourage everyone to walk through the doors of this amazing store and have one too!

After having less than a positive experience with another large furniture store in Peterborough, my confidence was low. Dear Ms Bennett, I would like to let you know of the commendable customer service that my husband Peter and I received at Bennett’s in Peterborough. We bought a sofa and chair, wide screen TV console, occasional chair, kitchen table and chair set and a bed in the last six months. The friendly, professional, over and above service we received from sales associate Jan Norman was exceptional! Not to be outdone, the accommodations performed by the delivery persons Shawn and Brian Widdis when the load had to be changed to accommodate my time constraints was met with professional and friendly service. I wanted to send you a quick note to let you know we love our new kitchen set that was delivered by your team last Friday. Believe it or not, this is the first NEW kitchen set we’ve ever owned in 30 years. Anyway, we just love it and, judging by the attached photo, it looks like it was made for our new kitchen. Secondly, I just have to compliment you and your staff. From Deb our sales representative to the gentlemen who delivered our set, everyone has been so friendly and helpful. I know it’s not always easy to find good people when you own a business but you have lucked out. Please pass along our thanks to them for the great service.

Buying furniture is about more than price, but price is very important. We want the quality but at a very good price. If not, we don’t buy. Over the past five years it seems that we almost always buy from Bennett’s. Because we get both.

I am a new customer of Bennett’s, as my family relocated from abroad over the summer. I recently purchased a living room set from the Peterborough location. I must say that the product is wonderful and the service well surpassed my expectations. There was a slight mix-up with the original order but apparently Mr. Bennett himself, as was confirmed by the sales agent, handled the situation. I was floored to know that the owner himself cared so much and was so involved. I did not realize that such customer service still exists. In this day and age you tend to encounter businesses that only want the sale, and the customer satisfaction is not always a priority. Thank you Mr. Bennett and staff for being so welcoming and for caring for your customers. We will definitely recommend your store to others and will continue to support your business.

We had our delivery today of a Canadel dining room set. We really would like to express how pleased we are with Bennett’s Home Furnishings service. Our sales consultant, Jan Norman, was excellent and also Karen, who helped when Jan was on vacation. They were both patient and helpful. We like to shop and Bennett’s and have been a client at Bennett’s since 1999 because we do not feel pressured or rushed to make a decision. We’d like everyone at Bennett’s to know we are happy customers!

To Bennett’s Staff, We have always had great service through Bennett’s. We just replaced our couch/loveseat that we bought 18 years ago in Campbellford. Your delivery people graciously moved the old set to the basement. We want to make sure everyone knows what a wonderful job Rhonda and Jan did in assisting us over several store visits with choosing fabrics etc. What a wonderful team. Our son’s dining room set and sideboard were purchased in your Peterborough store last year and they live in Toronto. They too commented on the great product, knowledgeable staff and that the delivery service was the best they had ever had to their home! Rhonda provided excellent service and helpful comments at that time too. The delivery team was very friendly and professional. They were quick to deal with a small repair and pass on the information. Marylou and Jim in customer service gave a quick check up and care information. We have toured many other stores, but we love coming back to Bennett’s. The sales staff is friendly, not pushy, and helpful. Our daughter, who lives in Foxboro, recently bought a couch from Campbellford. They were impressed by the size and selection of furniture Campbellford carries. We still have several purchases to make for our family room and living room so we will be back soon! Thanks so much,
